The real estate profession is something that you can get into quickly, but you do need to take courses and pass licensing exams, but it is also important to get practical training with a real estate company after obtaining your license.
Steps to Become a Real Estate Agent in the US
• 18 years or older; GED or equivalent.
• Find realtor courses online or find schools offering real estate agent courses.
• For US Real Estate Agents you must pass the state licensing exam.
Steps to Become a Real Estate Agent in Canada
• Each province have their own rules. Here is a list of Alberta's requirements
• Achieved a minimum of a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Successfully completed licensing education: the Real Estate Associates Program (REAP)
• Successfully completed the provincial qualifying exam
• Sponsorship of a licensed real estate brokerage and eligible member of the Calgary Real Estate Board® (CREB)
• Clear & certified criminal record check
