First Nations Job Training
Government of Canada invests in job training in Canada's North: Canada's Economic Action Plan supports northern prosperity and economic development.
The Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (ASEP) program is providing over $7.1 million for the Building Inuvialuit Potential Society project. Partners are contributing the balance of the funding to a project total of over $14 million.
Also announced in Canada's Economic Action Plan, the Aboriginal Skills and Training Strategic Invesment Fund is a two-year, $75-million program designed to help Aboriginal Canadians through short-term training initiatives that enable them to benefit from current employment opportunities.
